Day 1: Logins / Passwords; appropriate use of technology (TEKS: 5c,d; 6a)
Day 4: Google Chrome 6a-e

- Review logging into systems; creating and using safe passwords, and acceptable use guidelines
- Login to the district network, reset password(s) to one that will keep data safe; and explain negative impact of inappropriate technology use
- Survey to identify prior knowledge; possibilities-login to MISD, resetting passwords for other accounts; knowledge of district, school AUPs
- Review safe password guidelines; teacher leads discussion on summarizing appropriate use of technology

- Model how to login to cloud based systems; create, organize & share files & folders
- Explain cloud technology,
- Login to Google Drive, create a Your Name, period __ Folder share with teacher
- Participate in collaboration document
- After login, participate in a collaborative document and answer: name, school email, question-where do you put your digital files?"

Day 4: Google Chrome 6a-e
- What is Google Chrome?
- Model how to login to Chrome, link data, search for and install applications and extensions, explain the difference between applications and extensions, demo some of each, model how to logout and clear data
- Login to Chrome, link data, install appropriate apps and extensions, customize the start page, log out of Chrome, clear and delete data
- Search the Chrome store for an application that you can also use on your iPad
- Open Chrome, login, linking data, benefits of using Chrome vs IE or Firefox, Applications, Extensions, customizing, logging out
- Model appropriate citation of online materials. Discuss the importance of determining online credibility
- Login to Chrome, locate assigned online materials, determine credibility and give appropriate citations
- Good vs. Bad Online Materials
- Wheel of Choice to determine the online materials student will be responsible for citing and evaluation
- Digital Citizenship (digital rights, responsibilities, and law), responsible online use and citation, credibility, extensions, chrome login and out
